It was known that this would happen. The wildlife people just didnt care about the farmers. When you throw grazers into a place without alot of grazing habitat, they will head for the best grazing habitat(private land farms). The same thing is happening with TN's elk herd in Royal Blue. The bull that came through my place several years ago tore down multiple fences, allowing cattle to get out and cause problems that way before he just sort of mysteriously disappeared. They just do not belong in these type of areas.

That is interesting. Maybe it's time to issue more than five permits for elk in Tennessee. Seems like Kentucky got it figured out.

That would be the ideal solution but NC has no elk management plan. How hard would it be to implement an elk hunt like TN?

The best grazing habitat around is actually the fields in Cataloochee but they are small.

IIRC Tennessee's elk zone includes a fair amount of private lands.

In case you hadn't noticed, that was in North Carolina, not tennessee.
