Scope question

Dug out an old scope I've had a while. Power adjust ring will only move from 3x to 5x. It is an old Simmons 3-9X40 8 point. Tell the truth I don't remember when I even got this thing. Is it worth sending in to repair or just use it as it is.

Simmons will fix it for free. All you have to do is call them and attach a note to it detailing the problem. I have a Simmons 3x10x44 that the entire knob would turn when trying to adjust the elevation so I contacted them and that's what they told me to do. I had it back in about 2 weeks and maybe quicker if I remember correctly. The only thing it cost me was the shipping charge.
