blaze orange requirements

When wearing a full jacket(sleeves) do you still have to wear a hat? Or does the jacket meet the requirement? Also, is the blaze camo considered the same as orange only... Just curious.

A hat, or blaze orange visible from all directions on the head is required.
Blaze camo is permissible as long as the predominate color is the flourescent orange.
Hat and vest/coat has to total at least 500 sq. inches.

How many sq inches is a hat considered? Approx of course
And has anyone worn blaze camo? I was wondering how safe it is, does it stand out enough that a hunter should see you before they shot? SCN has there been any accidents with people with it on?

A regular size vest and hat meet the 500 sq. inch requirements. We have not seen a problem with the blaze camo as long as it is predominately blaze orange.

I have worn the same blaze camo vest for 10 seasons now. Got it at Wally World in 2003. Friends have no trouble spotting it. I don't know that it makes much difference to the deer, but I like it.
