A group of us are thinking of doing a backcountry hunt. If we are succesful and have a deer or wild pig there will be the opportunity to cook some of it up on the fire. Any of you guys ever done this? Keep in mind this a backcountry hunt and will not be hauling in a lot of stuff like a black iron skillet or anything. All suggestions are appreciated.

Bring some salt and pepper with you, maybe a little hot sauce and even a onion and some root vegetables such as carrots. You can roast the loin over flame with nothing but salt and pepper and a set of arranged sticks, camp skillet or piece of wire coat hanger -be creative.
Take a cut of your choosing, wrap it in tin foil with the veggies and place it in the coals. Sliced Apples are a nice addition to this as well.
Take a fatty cut and cook stew in a can by adding water and vegetables.
Slice the heart thinly and sear it adding only salt and pepper
enjoy. Sounds fun!

One of the only hunting shows I watch is Meat Eater. He does this alot. Maybe check his website. He has recipes from time to time.
