165 gr Speer, Nosler, Sierra, or Hornady soft point 46 gr of Varget(book max load, so work up to it) CCI 200 Somewhere around 2.80 COL
165 gr Accubond 45.5 gr RL-15 CCI 200 2.80 COL
150 gr Partition 47 gr Varget(book max) CCI 200 2.80 COL
If you can't get Varget or RL-15 to gel in a 308, then something is wrong with your 308.

thanks, I have more questions on the Powder then anything else. I mean there are a 1000 kind out there lol
I am only looking into it because for some reason i cant get better groups with the factory ammo i have tried (150 Hornady SST and 150 Federal Fusion) then about 2" which just aint gonna cut it for me at 100yds.

I use the 165 Sierra Game King BTHP and 46 grs RL15,,which is on the warm side but shoots really well and will flatten a whitetail.

Varget is awesome in the 308. My gun loves 46 gr with a 165 pill. That is a max load and is safe in my rifle.

Your gun may not like 150s, I bet 165s will shoot better in your gun.

i thought about trying some 165's but at the same time i really am not wanting to take on the increased recoil of the 165. While i know the 308 doesnt have much recoil it is still an increase in it.
I may end up getting some to try though in the end.
anyone use BLC-2 powder or have any experience with it...seems a fairly popular one to use as well as Varget.

I don't notice much difference in the 2 weights, I'm not going to say you can't tell a difference, but it's not enough to make a big deal over. I have loaded a few 308 rounds with Win 748, which is very simular to Bl-C2, if not the exact same. It worked well, but accuracy wasn't there in my gun.

Get some RL 15. If we cant get a good load worked up for your rifle, Ill buy it from ya.
Looks like the 165gr gets the most votes.

I shoot with several guys that really like the 308`s and 1 powder with the 150 class bullets that will make one hammer is the new IMR8208. If you want to get a powder for the 150 class weight that seems to work in a bunch of rifles then give the 8208 a try, Tim.

I use BLC2 with bullet weights from 125-168 gr with great sucess. Check their website and work up .5gr til you find what your gun likes. If that still dosen't work, have the crown of your barrel checked. Mine was off. Had it recrowned and worked the loads back up. Whadya know .750 3 shot groups @ 200yds.
