I try hack and squirt (with Tordon) for the first time this year. I got pretty good results. One tree is dead as a door-nail. The other looks sick.

I also cut one down and painted the stump with Tordon. So far, no saplings/shoots from the stump or roots.

That does not work with Bodock! It will sprout from below the ring and the sprouts will be 15 feet tall in 2 years!


Not sure if that works on any tree. I cut a ring around a sugar maple about five years ago. It's alive and well.

Grandmother used rock salt. grandfather cut down the tree and she put a box of rock salt on the stump. stump is still there no bodock shoots.

Had a neighbor that tried to burn it. Not so good. I felt bad for the person's chainsaw that cut it.

old farmer friend used a machete to hack a piece out and filled it full of arsenal ? idk but he said it would kill them and locust.
