I have a 2004 Honda Four Trx 450. It's been in storage since spring and I was putting in the battery and filling it up to get it ready for season. It started right up, no problems at all.
Later under the carport I saw it was leaking something and it was gas.
It was coming from a small black tube behind the motor. I thought it had come off something but could not find anything. I got my neighbor since he has the very same ATVand he brought his over. His black tube behind the motor just hangs down, it does not end anywhere. so we thought maybe I over filled my tank and it would stop. It draned the whole tank, I have just a little gas left in there.
What is causing this and what can I do to fix it????
I need to fix it soon as I can.

Sounds like your float is stuck in the carb. I bet that little hose you see it coming from is attached to the carb. If it is, a good carb cleaning should fix it right up.

Ditto, that is exactly what it is. First, just shut the fuel selector to the off position. (you should get into that habit anyways) Then remove the carb and clean, reassemble..........should/will fix the problem.

Welcome to the world of ethanol! Put some stabil in her after you get the carb fixed and it will keep it from getting gummed up from sitting for extended periods.

Yep just dropped off my sons for the same thing.. I almost got it cleared with some SEAFOAM but it was still running rough....If anybody is in the Knoxville area that needs this type of work or any work done on a ATV I would highly recommend Rodney @ 719-6860. He really don't like to work on Polaris but he will on some problems..

The Seafoam seems to have done the trick. So far no rough running and no more leaks.

I took the carb off of mine for a good cleaning & it was green on the inside, I had to soak it then it scubbed up ok.
Mechanic buddy of mine told me has had good luck with cleaning fuel systems by letting parts soak in distilled white vinegar, gonna soak my fuel tank this weekend & see how it does.

Probably not a bad idea to run a couple of capfulls of seafoam in every tank of gas moving forward. Also remember to let it sit and run at idle some so the idle circuit stays cleaned out.
