I have one also, not a fan of the 7 mag since I have a .280, 7mm-08. I just think it's way overrated!! Just my opinion.
But good luck with it.

I was given a 1974 Rem 700 ADL in 7mag. It's a lot of rifle but it is also my favorite.

Great round. I have killed more deer with it than any other.

I have one in my gun safe. Older Mdl. Rem. 700. I purchased it many years ago when the lease I had had a large bean field on it and I had shot opportunites out past 200 yds. I used the heck out of it then but now that my shots are limited to 50-75 yds max it mostly sits in the safe.
It is probably my most accurate rifle though, always was a tack driver and with my handloads it was a deer slayin machine.
I take it out every now and then for old times sake, or if I hunt somewhere where I can expect a 200+yd shot, which is very seldom.

I have a 700 BDL in 7mag I bought back in 1974 and it is the most accurate rifle I own, easily shoots most reloads into 1/2 MOA or better. I've killed deer from 25 yards to 844 yards with it.It's a Great rifle.
