My brother was hunting unit one on JPP this morning. He had picked a tree last week and noticed that there was a hang on stand there. This morning coming bout he noted that it had large numbers on it as if to identify it. What can anyone tell me about this? We've found two.

I need to put my TWRA # on my climber?

I also meant to ask is it legal to leave a hang on in place (not to mention wise...)?

Yes, any stand used on a WMA has to be marked with the hunter's TWRA ID #.

It is illegal to leave any equipment, including stands, unattended for more than 24 hrs without the approval of the Area Manager.

SCN does a stand being used on a WMA need to have the hunters name and numbers if the stand is carried in and out each time? In other words does my stand need to marked if I am in it??

I was told by a TWRA OFFICER "yes"..... different ones read rules different ways, better to be safe than sorry

A couple of years ago, after reading the WMA reg, I engraved my TWRA# on my climber.

To me, better safe than sorry. Plus, now my stand has a permanent ID.
