which would you buy? thinking of picking one up, but I've never
had a Tarsus and several have said Tarsus has had problems with
guns over all

The Governor gives you the added benefit of being able to shoot 45 ACP out of it with moon clips, the Judge is 45 Colt and 410 only. I would think that if you can shoot 45 ACP, you should be able to shoot 45 GAP as well, but Im not sure that is the case. As far as quality, the S&W is a nicer gun hands down, not knocking the Taurus, but its not a Smith.

Smith & Wesson vs Taurus. Not much to debate other than price. If you can't afford the Smith save a litle longer. Never once have I heard someone say they wish they had bought a Taurus after buying a Smith. I can't say that the other way around.

I've got a judge and very pleased with it. For a self defense gun, I couldn't see spending the extra $$$ for the Smith.
