I have reloaded my 7mm and 243 ammo with a Lee Classic Loader for several years. I am looking to buy a press to start loading more calibers so what is everyones opinion on which one to get. I've looked at Lee, Hornady, Dillon and RCBS. And is the single stage or progressive better. The only calibers that will be high volume will be 223 and 40 cal.

RCBS is my choice for all reloading equipment. They are a great value: good quality, they stand behind their products, they are precise, they last forever, and they cost a good bit less than the "premium" brands (dillon, redding, etc.)

I use a Lyman turret press. As far as dies, I have several brands. No problems with any of them.

I always think of the single stage as optimal for precision accuracy and the turret press for quantity where precision accuracy isn't as important like for the 40 and maybe the 223 depending on what platform you are using. Dillon is the best if you can afford it.

I have the Lee turret press. Once I have a disk set up for a caliber, its pretty easy to switch it out, just verify the settings on the first couple of rounds. Ive found its pretty easy to load up 300-400 rounds an hour with it.
If I wanted to load more than a few hundred rounds in a short period, I would look at a progressive over the turret.

I've used an RCBS rock chucker for many, many years and it still works as good as the day I bought it. I don't think you can wear one out.

I use my Dillon 550B as a single stage to load hunting rifle rounds. I use it as a progressive for loading pistol and 5.56 for the ARs
