I just ate lunch at a awesome new places called Arepa and Salsa on Madison Ave in Crosstown. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Arepa-and-Salsa/325622420834722

Its Venezuelan food. Arepas are a type of corn cakes that they fill with all kinds of good stuff. Some more info and a review is available here: http://ilovememphisblog.com/2012/10/my-first-venezuelan-food-arepa-and-salsa/

The one I got had beef, plantains, black beans and cabbage. Awesome. I'll be eating here frequently. Everything on the menu was under $10 and they have beer.

I remember that place now....it used to be a short-lived burger shack that had crappy service and overpriced burgers. I'll have to try this joint very soon.
