What is the rule on bonus deer ? I understand the basic rule that if the WMA offers a bonus deer you can exceed the annual bag limit of three. So that would make four. Could you still hunt another area that offers a bonus deer or is it one bonus deer annually ? Is Fort campbell a bonus deer area or does it count on the statewide limit of three?

Thanks,
Kent

As a general "Rule of Thumb" (but ALWAYS check to be certain),
any "Quota" deer hunt on any WMA is a bonus deer not counting against the statewide bag.

As another general "Rule of Thumb" (Ft. Campbell being an exception), any deer taken on NON-quota WMA hunts DO COUNT towards the statewide bag limits.

Too many exceptions to that to be a general rule. For example, catoosa, south Cherokee and fall creek falls all have non quota hunts that are bonus deer, while all of chuck swans quota hunts count toward the statewide bag limit.

I am sure there are more, but those came to mind quickly.

Your best bet is check the hunting guide, it tells whether or not they are bonus deer for every area and every hunt.
