It opened about a month or so ago and I finally got around to trying it. I got a fish taco and a carne asada taco. Both were good, everything made fresh to order.

The fish is fried(first fried fish taco I have ever had) in a lite tempura batter and topped with cabbage, pico de gallo and a very tasty lime sauce. Served on a fresh corn tortilla with a lime wedge

The carne asada taco was also on a corn tortilla served with pico de gallo and avacado. It was seasoned well, but I wish I would have eaten there(I got it to go) to try all of their Salsas.

...a little pricy at 2.50 each, but I plan to go back and order a bunch and put a dent in their salsa bar (I think there were around 10 salsas) to offset the cost.

Their carne asada french fries look very interesting as well.

Last weeks Memphis Flyer had a special report on the best tacos in Memphis...don't know if that one was mentioned or not.

It did make the list: http://www.memphisflyer.com/memphis/tour-de-tacos/Content?oid=3278208

My favorite tacos, when available, are: Chorizo, Goat and Lengua.

I think I have been to all of these locations except for Elena's (don't really have a reason to go to Bartlett). Las Toragus in Germantown is really good, but it is very expensive and they don't have beer. I took two girls two lunch there it it was like $70.

The last time I was at Las Tortugas, they served beer....it's been a couple years, though. And we tried their "famous" fish tacos, but were left pretty disappointed. There's more to food than serving fresh stuff. I remember the fish being extremely bland and boring. For half the money, I would obliterate the menu at La Guadalupana, walk away full, and bragging about it for a week.

I think Las Tortugas appeals more to the pretentious G'town crowd than anything else.

There was a little place on Lamar just N of I-40 that had killer goat tacos. They were open for about 6 months then closed down or moved...

That place was freakin' awesome. I used to go there and get Cuban Tortas.

Best hole in the wall taco shop in Nashville is Las Americas on Nolensville Rd. I have heard there are some taco trucks that are better but I have not been to them.

I always look at the menu at LG, but I alwyas settle on the 2-taco dinner (al pastor style...AKA: Spicy Pork) Depending on how hawngry I be, I may add a third taco. Be sure to ask for their green salsa as well. They don't automatically bring it out anymore.

Squeeze some lime on the taco, spoon some red salsa, spoon some green salsa, and eat away. Nom nom nom nom.....
