Imagine have'n to hunt with that on a damp or wet day know'n you have mouths to feed, bring'n home meat VS go'n hungry, they didnt have the Piggly Wiggly & a rip off market just down the street when that machine was a top of the line piece of hunting equipment.

There is no mystery involved in shooting a flint gun. Their development and use covered a period of over 400 years and the folks who used them certainly new how to manage them. Shooting one is as basic as shooting any rifle with iron sights. A good flintlock managed well will have almost instant ignition. I've hunted with mine in the rain and at the end of the day it discharged just fine. It's all a matter of knowing what to do....easy enough that I suspect most Tndeer members could do it

Never had a chance to tinker wth a flint lock, ROBTATTO invited me down to a monthly shoot some guys have, may have to make it just to see how they do work.
