I have found one for sale.. Never been shot $180.00....

What kind of deal is that? Considering it for my 15yr old....
Is it a good gun? Any problems?

Thanks,

Excellent rifle. I've had two of them for years. I don't know what they're worth now, but I've been very happy with their operation.

My buddy bought this one brand new a few years ago... He had big hopes of becoming a "hunter"..... He found out that he is a little too soft for the effort, so he just put this thing up & never fired it... Another friend of mine got a real deal on a bow from him also.....LOL

I admit I went the cheaper route with the bases and mounts. I bought the Weaver style from Bass Pro when I bought the rifles. They've worked perfectly and I've never had a problem with them.

The only thing I would suggest is getting the breech plug wrench that enters from the rear of the action once the rifle is disassembled. It will keep you from having to remove the scope when cleaning. For several years I did remove the scope to clean it, and the zero never changed. I just got that particular wrench to save time.

I'm sure they still make accessories for the Black Diamond. There are a lot of them out there. I found most of my stuff either at the Bass Pro store, on Cabela's website, or from Googling the part I needed with "Black Diamond" in the search line.

it's a great rifle. no problems for the last 15 yrs. i did have two of them now have one, my son shoots it now. does yours shoot the #11, musket cap, or the 209 primers? i have weaver mount with burris rings that has work well. also if you have a 209 nipple on it you can use a 11mm socket to take out the nipple and breach plug and put some lube on them and clean off the oil do this befor you shoot it.
