What sign are you seeing and what county? Rubs, scrapes, following, chasing, pretty much anything rut related. Things ought to start changing in the next couple weeks. I'm expecting to start seeing those "rubs and scrapes you wanna see" soon..

Big Rub pics would be nice also...

GOOD LUCK!!

I have a pear tree on one farm that is dropping tons of pears and that is one hot spot.
About the only spot I have been able to pattern the deer this year so far.

I have not found any buck sign to get excited about thus far. I have seen some random rubs on dime/quarter sized saplings and some dish pan size scrapes on logging roads, but that has been about it. I have walked a fair amount, but my main focus thus far has been finding the white oaks so I could shoot some does with my bow. I expect things to start unraveling and more buck sign will begin to surface in the next 7-21 days, depending on where geographically one is in the state. I am in SW TN.

Been seein fresh small rubs lately, and found a fresh scrape saturday morning that wasn't there friday afternoon. (Haywood County) Deer have been moving best here when its in the low 40s in the morning, especially with the darker moon.(Now New Moon) I havnt seen a deer yet on the 60 degree mornings or the upper 70s and above afternoon hunts, but I've seen plenty with these cold temperatures.

Lots of rubs in Williamson and Dickson. Some scraping going on to. I hunted Sunday evening and watched 3 younger bucks spar pretty hard on and off and a lot of posturing. Also they were thrashing trees on the edge of the food plot and hitting licking branches.

I've seen scrapes in 3 SW TN counties, but nothing that gets me excited. We're still a good ways from any significant pre rut activity. I'm stil focused on mast.

Humphreys County

Normally, peak breeding is a bit earlier (about a week) on my place than in the surrounding area (probably due to a tightly balanced sex ratio and an older buck age structure), with peak breeding being Nov. 12-19 each year (the period when scrapes "go dead" and older bucks are on "lockdown"). In some years, we see a fairly destinct "false rut" about a month before the beginning of peak breeding (usually the false rut occurs Oct. 8-12). Trail-camera pictures showed a destinct false rut this year, with lots of rubbing, scraping, daylight buck activity, and buck sparring this year during that period.

I'm seeing more and bigger scrapes than usual for this time of year. I'm finding really big communal scrapes away from field edges. Rubbing activity has really exploded in the last week, including the first big rubs.
