Pm sent back....I will show my son the pic of the gun...looks pretty nice...is the action smooth? I know some people say that the action on the 710s is little rough. I've never owned one so I don't know....thank you!

When i got the rifle the action was a little rough but ive oiled it up and its pretty smooth now. Its not as smooth as a win model 70 or anything but its not rough

Don't rule out the 270's and 30.06's... Great calibers and the new managed recoil rounds bring the recoils down to a 243 status.
My oldest started with a 3006 at 10/11.. They didn't call them "managed recoil rounds" back then but I was ordering/keeping 125 grain 3006 rounds that were sweeeeet on a deer and in his Abolt shot very similar to a 243.

I should add - a 7mm08 is one of my favorite rounds for whitetail...
