Looking for a meat grinder for deer. Which one to get? What do you have and where to buy? I will probably be grinding 10-12 deer per year.

Whatever one you get, make sure it has all metal gears. The LEM brand has served my family very well over the past 4 or 5 years. Also the biggest one you can afford cuts down on processing time. I think the one we have is the #8 that does about 6lbs a minute.

Make sure any grinder you buy is rated in horse power as well...some of the cheaper ones (if I remember correctly) are rated in Watts and that just won't cut the mustard.

If you could get a commercial one by Hobart it would last forever.

If you are grinding that kind of deer a yr., go commercial for sure. As mentioned above, LEM's has some very top quality products. The Sausage Maker does as well.

I agree, but I bought the LEM #22 1hp grinder and it does really well for my own use. I cut up some deer for friends and family to make back the money to purchase it.
If I was going to cut up many more than that, I would go with the larger commercial grade Hobart.

Where you at? You need some business? My grinder is home size and makes my Wife nervous as can be, always is muttering about keeping fingers clear.
