I hear ya man. I went from buying a new tract of land every 2 years with my money to getting married and having bills so no land buying any more or even really any luxury items LOL Just have to bank on hopefully getting a good job around December when I graduate and hope the wife does too when she graduates.

Ha ! Wait til you guys that don't have kids, have kids. You think your spending money now ! My kids are 9, and 10 years old. They both hunt and fish, the boy more than the girl. As they get older, they get more expensive. Buying rifles, scopes, fishing rods, and reels. Now this year they both want a bow for christmas. That will be a more expensive present for them Getting both of them a mathews craze. But hey, it is all worth the money you spend on them !

I moved out at 18 and I'm fixing to purchase my own house. Been a tough road but I believe that if you are forced to suck it up and work hard for something, you appreciate it more. I know we all have had our own bumps in the road but I see more and more people stuck at home living with their parents into their 30's. This is something that I just cannot believe. I was so ready to go and I actually jumped at the opportunity when it arose. Some people just won't ever grow up and those of us that do will have to carry the burden.

Oh to go back to 16 or 17 and have a do-over! You don't realize you had it made until after the fact.

Borrow the least amount possible to buy a house. Never borrow for anything else. Even cars.
If I could go back, I might do several things differently. One decision I would not change is who I married. I got real lucky on that one.

X3. No kidding. Just wait til u have to buy 100,000 diapers, and bigger cloths everytime you turn around. These responsabilities are what makes us men tho. It wont be easy man. Sometimes just like they say "this worl will beat you sometimes" just dont give up. Same way with marriage. Good luck to you.

Listen guys, seriously...what some of the other posters have said is the absolute BEST advice you'll ever get. And I imagine they learned it the same way I did...the hard way. That is to pay cash for everything that you can. Of course there are some things that are hard to pay cash for when you are young...like a home. But everything that you can pay cash for instead of bumping onto credit will help you out a million times over.
