How old do you think this guy is? I let this guy go on Sunday morning and was wondering what you guys thought. Not a trophy rack but i think he is a good management buck. Opinions?

yes id say 4.5 also. It amazes me how many people will let a mature deer 4.5+ walk and not kill them cause they don't score high.

Just because he got a pass Sunday doesn't mean he will get a pass the next time he shows his face. I"m pretty confident i will see him again soon and hopefully deflate his lungs!

Old, and I would consider it a "trophy rack" because it has a unique shape and a wide spread.

Sometimes you get caught up in the moment especially when there is a much bigger racked deer in the area. That is what happened to me Sunday.

Chris, all these fools are always critical of everything! They don't know what you have on your property, they don't know you have a rep to keep up!lol they also don't know that 130 deer are so common on your place they commonly get a pass! Now I think its 5.5 and ill come shoot it for ya for management!

Huh? I fail to see in the above posts where anyone was being a fool. Also, I fail to see in the above posts where anyone was being critical. You are the only one with a negative comment on this thread (about the members).

Enlighten me please.

atleat 5.5. I would have shot him. But every one is different. I wouldnt mount him but would have been proud to take him being he is a mature buck.

Wobble, I do tend to pass up alot of decent deer but i do believe he is a good deer to get out of the herd. Dont like those genetics spreading around my parts but looks like i have let him get his for at least 4 years

I agree.

And also agree and understand this very well. \:\)

When an opportunity to kill a particular buck presents, if I have to "think" much about it, then I don't worry too much about passing him up if that's what I did at the moment. On these situations, satisfaction is great just in having the opportunity and believing you "could have" had you so chosen. Not to mention, either someone else will enjoy their opportunity later (whether they kill him or let him walk), or you may get more opportunity later, possibly a year later when he's even better. Nothing wrong with "passing it on".

Opportunity: Pass It On
