Has anyone bought one of the 800-1000 watt Chicago generators from Harbor Freight ?
If so are they quiet ?
Most HF is china junk and this may be no different.
small Honda is $800 bucks or so , HF has these on sale for about $80, almost worth a try , only will be used around camp and very little so it might not have to be a honda ?

Are you sure it's $80? The only one I see is $129 online.
If it's the same one at the store for $80 then it's worth it to me. At that price you could get the extent warranty.
Now you've got me going to the store tomorrow.

Wildcat, just pulled the flyer out , it was $80 off price was actually$99 , but I will still get one, just curious if its noisy or not number on flyer is 8145-3 oct issue. full of coupons !

We used to put a refrigerator box with the top and bottom cut off over generators on photoshoots. Pipes the noise up and quiets them down quite a bit.
Saw a hack online where you put a $21 Thrush glass pack muffler on the exhaust of a small engine. Supposed to quiet them down a ton. Might be worth a shot.
