Not really sure but didn't wanna find out. \:\) I think that gas runs way hotter than diesel so there would have been some issues. Read on a diesel forum while researching what to do about a guy's wife doing the same thing but didn't notice until it shutdown on the way home. Those guys told him it could range from nothing much to major problems.

You will be ok. I have poured everything in my diesel truck. 250,000 miles, doesn't burn a drop of oil, and still has the original injectors. I knew a guy who drove a dump truck and he put gas in it all the time. He would run a percentage of gas to diesel. Claimed he got more power. It does burn hotter.

I worry from time to time about accidentally doing that to my tractor.

Way back in the late 70's my dad had a 1977 (I think) Ford LTD. One of the lifters started knocking. A buddy of his said to put a little diesel in the tank and that it would quiet down the lifter. WELL! The lifter didnt quiet down and the car smelled of diesel for the rest of the time he owned it. \:D \:D

We all pay a stupid tax at some point. I was like you talking while pumping gas once and put $75 of gas into a RODHOLDER on my boat. Still haven't lived that one down. I'm sure a diesel motor would cost much more though.

That's pretty good and doesn't make me feel so bad. It is funny now but wasn't then.

You could have topped it off with diesel and added a few courts of tranny fluid and it would have been fine...
