The AR I tried them with didn't like 62gr Federals as much as the 55gr V-max Hornady ammo.... using the 55gr for varmints & predators was looking pretty good for the setup.... 16" 1:8 twist barrel.

You would probably need a heavier bullet for deer size animals as compared to 55gr for coyotes......

Thanks.been reading some other forum \:\) partions rank at the top but good reviews for a few others.cant shoot the scope in til Sunday.seen some of the hog bullets. They looked to be all copper with the sides hammered flat all the way around.was afraid it might not exspand on a deer sized critter without hitting heavy bone

Mike I have 8 winchester 64gr power points that do well on deer. They shot well out of my bushmaster wtih a 16in barrel. your welcome to them,my wife works in oak ridge, you could get them from her there.

for deer hunting with a 223,,I load the 65 gr Sierra SBT Game King and 25 grs Varget,,when the time arrives pretend you are shooting a bow,and not take crazy shots and put it in the boiler room and you have dead deer
