We will be taking my 1 year old little girl up there on Oct. 22. She was born with Spinal Bifida and she has clubbed feet. We are going to go up there to see if they can do anything for her. I was just wondering if anybody has had any experience with the hospital. Thanks

As a Shriner, I can tell you she will have the best care possible. She will be a part of the family, and you should not have any worries.

Amen - my nephew was treated in CHI by Shriner's hosp, THE BEST, and I mean THE BEST - you're in good hands - and fear not.

Grundyhunter,
My son was born seven years ago with clubbed feet. We knew from the ultrasounds that he was that way.He was born here in Cookeville and the doctors tried to tell us that he would be fine he just had too little room in the womb and his feet would straighted out on their own!
We had already made arrangements with the Shriners to see him and took him to Lexington as soon as we were released from Cookeville. Dr. at shriners said that my son was definately clubbed footed. Castings and surgery preformed by Shriners made it possible for my son to not only walk, but to not even understand how lucky he is to be able to walk! He plays soccer, takes Karate and does whatever he wants. You can not tell there was ever anything wrong with his feet! The Shriners hospital is to thank for everything. You can not put your child in better hands, I promise! They know what they are doing.
My son is actually there TODAY for his yearly check up.
Best of luck to your little angel!

GrundyHunter,
My son was born with a crippled right hand. Amneotic bands had wrapped around it causing his fingers to morph together.
We took him to Shriners and they treated us like gold. They were willing to schedule us for more tests, procedures and surgeries. We had insurance but took him there as a 2nd opinion at the request of his pediatrician. We declined Shriners help simply because of us having insurance and being able to afford the copays, etc...
I would not hesitate going there again, if needed.
Prayers for your family.
