In another thread, Wildcat mentioned Tennessee is "leaning Romney." I have seen the electoral college maps he likely got that from. The fact that a poll claims we are leaning towards Romney is one of the reasons I don't put much stock in any of the polls. TN is SOLID Romney and is nowhere near being in play.

Even with the excitement of Obama mania in 08, the Kenyan only carried 6 of 95 Tennessee counties. 4 of those were rural, the other two were Davidson and Shelby counties. Obama has not gained in Tennessee...he has lost votes. At the same time, Romney has Republicans, Independents, and conservatives much more enthused than McCain did 4 years ago.

I predict Romney wins TN by a greater percentage than McCain did in 2008.

Here is a link to the 2008 TN election results by county. You can drag your cursor over the counties to see the results.

If TN was in play we would be seeing tons of advertising here. Presently in the Nashville area there is zero. Romney will win by several hundred thousand votes. Shelby County accounted for roughly 1/4 of Obama's 2008 state total.

I'm in Shelby County. I am not seeing anywhere close to the ads I was for the 2008 election. Not from either side. I'm certain Shelby will go to Obama. Hell the idjits that vote here keep on electing democrat criminals that keep Memphis from becoming a 1st class city. IMO neither side is trying hard because the Democrats know they cannot win and the Republicans know that too.

Round here, Livingston is the only place I've seen Obama signs...and there are only 3 that I have observed.

This is what I use. He called it right on the money 4 years ago and he also does NOT use the 08 election the others use.

http://www.rove.com/election

I'm sure Romney will win Tn but I'm not sure just by how many. Ever though Obama seems to have sliped from 08 that doesn't mean that the Romney will get as many votes as some may think. Romney's supporters might not turn out in the numbers to vote. Some will think Romney has a easy win in Tn and then not ever bother to vote. It HAS happened in the past before.

Ever though I'm 99.9% sure Kentucky will be the first state to go RED for Romney on election night I'm still pushing as hard in KY as I can. I'm just not one of those people who think just because we think something is in the bag we can relax.

So based on the polls this is 0bama's election from what I'm seeing in that map Wildcat - do you interpret that map differently?

Karl Rove changes that map every week along with his report, you should have seen it a couple months ago.

Something else to think about, in 2008 between 8 and 17 million conservatives stayed home and did not vote. That is something Obama is counting on. I for one don't want that to happen and will keep pushing while others want to set back and relax a month before the election.

I do believe this will be 'reversed' next month...What I mean is that sure, Liberals will vote - but many DEMOCRATS are going to stay home. I spoke with several of my family members who have voted (D) for 40, 50, & 60 years last Saturday. They can't bring themselves to vote for a Republican - but were adamant they are NOT going to vote for The Bolshevik.

They're staying home.

I've seen Romney signs throughout Shelby County, but very little Obama signs. Maybe I just haven't paid any attention to Obama signs. But I'm sure that Obama will win Shelby County. Shelby County has voted Democrat in the past several elections, and I don't think that will change in this election.

However, I do think Romney will win TN.
