Not saying it won't happen here, but know that parts of California are paying around $5.50 to $6 a gallon!

This is a gas station in D.C. within a block of the Watergate complex. The cabbie says that all over town, gas averages about $3.85 or so, but due to the high percentage of VIP's and diplomats at the Watergate, they can demand these prices and get away with it.

Must have had a good pump rigged up to get that much gas in a hurry.

Bit off but on topic.

Years ago a coal company gas station near my grandparents house never put a lock on the cap where the tanker filled the big tanks. From the story told a couple of the local outlaws got the bright idea they could steal some gas, they rigged up a soup can on a long string and lowered it into the big tank then pulled it back up. The old nightwatchman (my cousins other grandfather) caught them. He said he watched them two hours lower and raise that soup can before busting them. Told everyone they had managed to get almost a gallon of gas in that two hours.

They easy go under the truck and knock a hole in the gas tank, they don't care if they lose half the gas and you have to get your tank fixed.

That was for the trucks.

If your talking about a tank in your yard, they will easy break the lock when you are not at home. Already happened not far from me on another farm.

Had some idiot steal gas from a guy at work about a month ago. Said he stopped and put about half tank in before he came to work. Got in that night to leave and all his lights came up because he was so low on gas. Liked to have not made it to a gas pump.
