I like my deer stand (thanks again bowriter!) but I don't always want to lug it around in an area that I am not familiar with. My younger brother installs sunrooms and builds decks. I helped on his latest project and as we were talking the idea came to me. I grabbed a piece of 5/4 scrap and aluminum. Cut it to lengths that I liked and slapped it together.

Intial build was a little too tall


Finished product. I added padding to the seat and wrapped that in burlap. Used a base coat of brown and then threw a piece of burlap over the metal and alternated between green and tan. I also added eye bolts to the ends of the seat for a carrying strap.

That looks pretty cool...hope your balance is better than mine...I'd probably fall off and break an arm from 36" off ground with my luck...lol

Looks good. May want to put some kind of foot on it so it doesn't sink into the ground.

I'd probably fall asleep and fall off; that would be stealthy...
