when painting property lines,does color matter,are there certain colors that mean anything in particular

I always use orange tape to do mine.

I always use orange tape to do mine. my friend did that and it just dissapeared

after a while it does. i need to re mark mine matter of fact. been about 5 or 6yrs since i have.

Specific colors are usually for timber companies to know what to cut, what not to cut, where the boundaries of the property and the specific area to be cut are. To stay in line with what they do, I would mark mine with Blue paint. That way, if you ever do any logging you will probably be consistent with what they use. (most timber companies use blue for property boundaries)

on select timber management we have used blue paint to mark the trees to be cut for over 60 years, blue is a color not common to forest areas and easy for timber cutters to ID, I guess its different as you move around
I/we use red oil based enamal paint to mark property lines
