They are in my neck of the woods (Hardeman). Most are small and probably insignificant but I did find one that was as big as a garbage can lid...chewed up branch and everything.

Anyone else finding scrapes already?

Saw two small ones that were made Friday morning. Or was refreshed last night. I've never seen them this early before, but it doesn't get me excited. The pre rut is still 5-6 weeks away here.

I have seen fresh scrapes on 3 different properties so far this year in Davidson and Williamson. Multiple scrapes on 2 of the 3.

I found about 15-20 scrapes the second weekend of bow season. A coupleof rubs, but not many. The rubs I did find were big. I haven't ever seen this much sign this early, that I can remember. The cool snap we had between the first 2 weekends of the season, I believe, just got them into 1st gear. I wouldn't put too much into it right now. I guarantee this cooler weather at this exact moment is causing them the do the same thing. There will be more sign by next weekend as well. Its still early

Been finding scrapes since bow season opened in Carroll Cty. Kinda odd but not taking a gift for granted. Bucks in the area, just gotta be there when they are.

Got an old woods road that is usually torn up. Not a sign this year but I'm seeing the bucks so doesn't matter.

Saw a few rubs early, nothing since then. haven't seen a scrape on any of my properties. I reckon they are too busy eating.

Been seeing quite a bit of scraping activity since the last week of September. This is about a week or two earlier than normal. Put cameras over scrapes a week or so ago and got some bucks using the scrapes, and some just walking by ignoring them.

I wouldn't look any further than the cooler weather being the culprit. Its much cooler this year at this time than most years. Everything in my notes from previous years runs parallel to this cool weather. They are simply antsy and are able to do more movement and not get over-heated, like they have had the past 6 months.

A combination of acorn production and cooler weather. In October, it is not at all uncommon for bucks to produce a flurry of scraping every time we get a cold snap. In fact, that's why I always say that the weather is the third most powerful influence on deer activity, right behind hunting pressure and the rut.
