I'm in the market for a new gadget....so let's start it....best and worst experiences with these things? Brand help and functionality notes would be cool.

I got one from dick's sporting goods. It works great especially after spraying the top with scotch guard.

i have got one i made my self i copied it from my dads old one and it works great took a piece of 1inch galvanized pipe and took a screw in step and cut it off and made a adapter to put it on the 1inch pipe then take a camo umbrella and drill a hole in the top and put a pin threw it. i have had so many of the store bought ones and not found one yet that is this strong and hold up to the hard rain and wind

I'm looking at an Ameristep. After getting rained on last week, I don't want to go through taht again. Fingers all shriveled up and the water was finding every opening. Deer didn't mind. Stupid spikes out playing in the rain!

I also got mine from Dicks, could be used as a small ground blind cover as well. Used it for the first time Saturday and it was awesome....didn't rain at all! haha.

Find one with the sturdiest arm from tree to umbrella. One problem I've had with tree umbrellas is wind. If the arm from tree to umbrellas is thin/weak, wind can catch the umbrella and bend the arm.

Yep, exactly...I have two, one still new in the box but I can't remember the name on them. I use them more for turkey hunting from the ground...turn them where the tree side is flat on the ground and it came with little stakes to hold it down...sitting behind it works pretty well for me

I bought a cheap one from walmart a few years ago. It's pretty good. Used it yesterday.
