Friday afternoon 10-5-12. My buddy and I decided to tag team a old cattle pond since it was rather hot out and we didn't have anything better to do.

Here is a view from the AEDC juvenile hunt this afternoon. Plenty of sign but no deer.

Long thick holler with wild strawberries and a big clover plot above.

Saturday 10-6-12. My first repeat of the season As I hunted this stand last weekend on a midday hunt. This time, it was a cold, wet and windy morning. No sightings so I'm ditching this setup:

For the afternoon, I shifted over to a nice, open hardwood draw in the middle of a sea of thick, sweet gum. Lots of mast here and even 2 fresh scrapes, which is the earliest I have ever seen scrapes in West TN. I sat from 1:30 until dark, through 3 thunderstorms and shifting winds. No sightings, but may hunt this during the midday tomorrow - left some steps in place for a quick setup.

Sat here yesterday evening and this morning. Killed a doe this morning right across the creek where the middle tree is at. Thats about a 10-12 yard shot.

Sunday morning hunt, got a doe out of my new summit climber..Acorns finally starting to fall, but they are not plentiful yet. I setup in the best crop I could find and they came through.

Got caught snoozing this morning. -was setup next to a big White Oak and a persimmon tree that was dropping. The area is very thick. At 8:30ish, I dozed off for a second and woke up to realize that there was deer in my shooting lane. While I was shifting around my tree to get a shot, the doe stood just beyond that log in pic 1 for a minute at ~24 yards. I drew back and waited, but she was quartering away just enough to pass on the shot.
