Ive got some kids lined up for this yr but some of them need their hunter safety course. Does anyone know where I can go to find the when and where the closest ones will be for them?

Thats great you have taken the first steps of getting your son safely into hunting. I envy you. Mine is just 3, so I still have a couple yrs before its his time. Until then I like to give back to other kids who didnt have the opportunity I did. I dont think theres anything happier to see than a kid shoot his first deer. My friend and I try and recruit new kids every yr and last yr we were 5 for 5 with kids that have never even been in the woods or shot anymore than a 22. This yr we have some new kids but some need hunter safety. Its up to people like us to keep the next generation going. The thing that helps us the most is mounting a cheap scopes on a wooden guns and letting them learn how to find things in a scope. When we started that was our biggest problem.

If you can't get them in a class soon enough, you can get the the one time only apprentice license. Lets them hunt this year without the class.

They can do the course online and show up for the Field Day. I was looking at the site yesterday.
