The morning didn't start off well. I was settled in before sunrise, starting to pull the crossbow up & my fannyback slipped & fell the 25 ft, so down I went. Once all that was resolved had a doe feeding about 70 yrds away at 8. At 10:15 a shooter 7 or 8 came through, not feeding but just easing through. Had ranged a tree he was going to pass at 35 yards, but he was further back going through the small gap, easily 45 yards. It appeared the arrow passed right underneath him. Never could find the arrow but spent about two hours looking for any trace of blood to make sure. At the shot he tore out of there so it was easy to follow the upturned leaves to make sure he wasn't hit....I hate to lose an arrow! Oh well, sometimes chicken, sometimes feathers...
