Ok guys i dont have a pic, because i didn't think i would need it while hanging my climber yesterday. I found an oak tree on a creek bank, the leaves were almost identical to that of a chestnut oak. It had kind of a scaley bark, but not scaley like you see toward the tops of white oaks, these ark is in short blocks kinda. The acorns are tiny, not just a whole lot bigger than a peanut, but the deer are tearing them up. I know this isnt much to go on but its all i got for now.

Could be either a Swamp White Oak or a Swamp Chestnut Oak. But considering the size of the acorns, I would strongly suggest Swamp White Oak.
Look at the difference in bark and acorns for the two species at this site:

Being that the acorns are the size of a dime, it could be a chinkapin oak if it has the bark of a white oak and the leaves of a chestnut oak. Acorns are usually small and turn black.

Based on your typed description, I would have guessed Swamp Chestnut. I have found several along the tops of creek banks as well and if and when they are dropping, the deer typically are blitzing them from all angles. It can make for some fun hunting if you hit it right. With that said, the acorns lead me to believe Swamp White Oak is the answer. Regardless, if the deer are tearing them up, you should have some fun hunting it. Best of luck!

A chinkapin will be very easy to identify by the bark. Chinkapin is a good one to hunt too.

Chinkapin is another good possibility, although they usually grow on upland sites.
