Allow me to jump in here, basset. This so-called "fact check" that says cutting taxes will result in lower revenue actually ignores history. Reagan reduced all the tax rates. The highest went from 70 percent to 28 percent. For those who don't understand how the economy works - like NPR and the Washington Post - one would assume when you drop tax rates that revenue would drop, too. It didn't. Tax cuts stimulated the economy and tax revenue between 1980 and 1990 doubled. So, to assume that Romney's tax cuts will result in less revenue is wrong. He explained it beautifully. You lower taxes and broaden the tax base, meaning you put more people back to work. More workers mean more income tax. Outlets like NPR and the Post always ignore the fact that tax reduction stimulates the economy.

No matter what one's political party one should be able to look at this problem logically and understand that more people working means more tax revenue. If that's a given fact then the only discussion left is how to get there. Logically, one doesn't create more jobs by increasing taxes. Even Obama agreed with that point a couple of years ago when he extended the Bush tax cuts. Now he's acting like he doesn't understand the concept. It's simple. Higher taxes=lower growth. Lower taxes=higher growth. Growth=jobs. Jobs=tax revenue.

Hope that helps.

There is a point of diminishing return when it comes to taxes. LIberals and others who can't or won't understand basic economics and think of Socialism as a linear concept fail to recognize that at some point, taxes become to burdensome and discourage growth and productivity rather than encourage it.

This is called the "Laffer Curve". Roughly illustrated here, you can see that there is a point where tax burdens begin to decrease revenue to the state rather than increase it.

The problem I have with this graphic is where that point is positioned. I think that point of diminishing return is a long way before 50% and one might assume by this chart.

Crappie,
The point of diminishing returns is right around 22%. So Laffer said in a recent radio interview.

Obomma decides to go undercover to see what the citizens really think about his plans. Donning a disguise he walks the city without his SS detail. Passing an alley a man with a gun jumps out and says "Give me all your money!"
Obomma stammers out" Uh.... I am Uh.... the president of the United States"

The robber says "Fine Give me all MY money".
