my little brother has one and a Leupold scope with dots to match the gun and I have seen him make hits at 200 yards with it,,but that is with a rangefinder and off a rest.only thing I didnt like was the magazines, they work but a little rough loading,,gun will shoot though no doubt.

zeroed right I am sure it will kill deer at 150 easy,,

Do you know what load he was using? Does the gun hold 1 in the chamber and 2 in the magazine?

there are some hulls he shot in my driveway but I dont remember without looking,,and if you load the barrel first and then 2 in the magazine after you close the bolt on a round it will hold 2+1

I assume you are talking about the savage 220 slug gun. Savage has made numerous bolt action shotguns over the years which is what makes the title confusing.

The savage 220 is said to be a very acurate 20 ga slug gun. Randy Wakeman got 3.5 inch groups at 200 yds. If I was living in a slug gun only state, I would definately own one.

Yes that is the one. Thanks everybody, this really helps. Now what ammo/scope would you use for it?

x3. I hunt corp land once or twice a year so I didn't want to spend the money on one and bought a Mossberg 500 .20 gauge. Got it on paper with open sites and killed one the next day @ around 75 yards. Honestly I was surprised. I shoot a Winchester sabot but don't recall the exact one. They were 15 or 20 in a box for about $10 if I recall. I have some Horanday's (again if I remember correct) that are expensive. The Winchesters shot so well and put a big hole in that deer so I'll never use the Hornadys.
