Does anyone know if gun shops run serial #s on guns brought in to be worked on?

None of the ones I've ever dealt with have for a repair.Usually when you're trading in a gun for a gun,they'll run the serial #'s on your trade.

If it's a warranty repair by an authorized repair facility, they will.
