I've been wondering how to handle this situation and how some of you handle this. When you come to a tree thats much wider and the trunk and thins out as you go up makes the climber point at a downward angle. Makes for a very unstable feeling and you can't get as high as you would like. How do you guys fix this issue?

Start with the stand at an extreme upward angle at the bottom. As you climb up you'll level out.

Yep! I've been in some trees that are so wide at the base that my climber is almost at a 60 degree angle.

Tilt the stand way up at the bottom of the tree so it levels out as you climb. You definitely don't want the stand tilted down when you get to your hunting height. Very dangerous. If it is tilted down, climb back down and readjust your stand.

My climber has a leveling system. Meaning that I can adjust the angle of the climber when I'm in the tree via knobs that you turn. It's a really cool set up.

either tilt it up at start or find another tree. sometimes the bottom of my climber is about 4 feet off the ground when I start.

Ditto. I have to grab hold of the top piece of my climber and pull myself up to the foot piece.
