Chicago, Obama's "Hometown", has "gone to pot", in so many ways, including literally.

CHICAGO – Police in Chicago became farmers for a day Wednesday as they began to chop down a marijuana farm as big as two football fields found in the city. The farm, which contains about 1,500 plants and could have netted $7-10 million, was spotted by a police officer and county sheriff's deputy in a helicopter as they headed back to their hangar, MyFoxChicago.com reports. No arrests had been made . . . . . .

I'm 60 years old and lived though the 1960's when pot came out big time. I have seen friends and family fall under pot's spell and that's all they want to do no mater who they hurt.
I've seen it all and heard it all, it's all the same thing over and over just written by new and younger people who think they are the first to think of it.
In my 60 years the ONLY people I've met that want to legalize it are the people that now USE it.
I'm my own source and don't need no link, I've lived though it.

Wasn't trying to make this any kind of referendum on pot. Just thought the story was "one more" feather in the hat for Chicago's "going to pot", and if we want to see Obama's vision for American, there it is, in Chicago.
But . . . . . . . My lifelong experiences with pot and pot-smoking friends seem very similar to Wildcat's.
I have seen friends and family fall under pot's spell and that's all they want to do no mater who they hurt.
I've seen it all and heard it all, it's all the same thing over and over just written by new and younger people who think they are the first to think of it. On the surface, I have to agree with those who push the idea it's no worse than alcohol. I've seen alcoholism destroy many people and many families. In some respects, smoking pot may not be as bad as frequent "drinking", and it is a shame that so much law enforcement effort is spent on it, rather than worse crimes.
That said, I know lots of people who are "moderate" drinkers and have been hugely successful in life. But 100% of the regular pot users, at least the ones I know of, haven't done so well. So just maybe, pot is worse than alcohol. And just maybe, too much pot was part of Obama's problem in the first debate?

Chicago has already been in the pot for many years.

I don't see anything wrong with grass. Weak willed people will destroy themselves with something; booze, dope, cigs, food, or sex. It matters not what they choose. It will happen.
