23 minutes in and Obozo is stammering and blaming... I figured as much. Romney, surprisingly, Romney is presenting himself very well.

It's mostly background noise to me. From what little I've seen, it looks like Romney is doing ok.

All the media this morning was saying how Obama was "more eloquent". HA BS It was the media and their mind numbed minions that elected a man with Zero substance! He's out of his league and he's not getting a pass tonight. The media can't cover for him during these 90 minutes!!!
Sadly, as soon as this debate is over, the media will spin the debate as best as they can and they'll ignore the results, post a few more fake polls and according to them, Romney will be back in the ditch...

The Ryan/Biden debate should be interesting.
Ryan - Biden will be like well, Ryan - Biden. Ryan's smart and articulate and Joe, well, Joe will be as crazy as ever. May well be the one of the most one-sided debates in history. It'll probably end up in syndication on the comedy channel.

Romney called Obama out on the 90 billion waste that went to green companies, telling Obama he could have hired 2 million teachers with that money.

I watched the debate on CBS, why? I don't know... But the first comment by one of the media was " They both seemed evenly matched".
That's not what I saw...

Doesn't matter what side you're on - if you watched that game you know who won. I was waiting on Obama to pull his white hanky out of his packet and start waving it.

Of course they have to admit that Romey wiped the floor with him—what else could they do.....Mathews and Maddow couldn't even spin that Obama performance into a win.
Very true—MSNBC is trying to spin it in the direction that the beotch-beatdown that Obama got was the fault of the moderator.

I will sleep better tonight but you can bet Romney had better stay on top of this because Obama will come back in the next two. His people will work him over. Still the polls will be much different this week.

The Kenyan actually asked the moderator to move on. It is hard to defend failed policies. He now has a record he can be judged by and it is a LOUSY one.

WOW proud of Romney, didnt think he had it in him and or he have gotten bad advice! Obahma didnt have anyone to save him from himself last night!
You can bet this morning theres a lot of leftys who wished they kept thier mouth shut right after the debate last night. They were SOOOO mad and upset with Obama! They are going to wear them out for their remarks about O getting his butt whipped! They knew and know it, but they gonna be wishing they hadnt showed it!
WOW, even Chris Matthews went off RANTING about O, and how bad he sucked, and how Romney was in compleat controll!
They will try to spin it this A.M., but TOO LATE,they know they got it handed to them last night, and showed it! They are so so so upset with Obama!
THANK YOU MITT, WE NEEDED THAT!

I dont know after hearing debate if Obama can do it. He couldnt defend his failed four years, he couldnt respond when face to face with the lies he been telling about Romney. Easy to lie on campain trail and ads, but hard to do when the person can confront you about it, and you dont have your people to protect and shield you from it.

I typically don't post in this forum but I saw the thread topic on the main page... My wife and I watched the majority of the debate last night. Wow! For the first time we feel energized about Mitt Romney.
I thought the President looked fatigued and his responses were often meandering and lacked focus. In contrast, Mitt seemed very alert and his responses were decidedly more focused and stayed on point. I thought the "role of government" question really hurt the President...especially when he managed to include a Bin Laden reference...that was a reach. Big points for Mitt for immediately referencing the Constitution.
Much like a quarterback after a football game, the POTUS gets too much credit and too much blame for successes and failures in the economy...there is so much more to it than that. What the POTUS can provide is strong leadership in bridging political parties and pooling ideas. I thought Mitt did an excellent job of relating his experience as Governor of a state that is largely democratic. Unfortunately the President's record of partisanship speaks for itself.
My opinion only, but I believe Mitt Romney really improved his chances last night.

I wish the debate had a better format. Having someone tell the candidates that they ONLY have a couple minutes simply doesn't work. They should just tell them the topic, pick one to start, and let them go at it. It just about worked that way last night. I sure am glad Romney backtracked from his comment when he mentioned "Poor" people. Romney made some good points about more of our States having control over decisions.
Romney-1 Obama-0

Romney WON in my book!! And i hope that EVERYONE gets out and votes this year. I can't wait to pull the lever. I also proudly wear a Romney/Ryan bumper sticker. We have GOT to get our country back within the guidelines of the Constitution. Period. Even if a voter is otherwise liberal, PLEASE...YOU LIVE HERE TOO!!! Our country will not endure 4 more years of Barack Hussein Obama.

Let's put on our thinking caps.
COULD Obama really have been THAT bad? Or COULD this be a political strategy of the Obama camp? After all, there really is no defense of Obama's failed policies and his failure to keep his word on some quite simple 2008 campaign promises, i.e. "transparency", "laser focus", "work with both sides of aisle", doubling instead of "halving" the debt, etc. When a sitting President has already publically stated that he doesn't deserve a 2nd term should he fail (and he has), then what becomes his re-election strategy?
The Obama camp has already previously established low expectations in the public regarding THIS first debate. But there's still two more to go before the election, and the last one may matter most.
Imagine how sensational it will be SHOULD Obama greatly exceed the now lowered expectations for the 2nd and 3rd debates?? Underdog to Comeback Kid! New Tingles Shock Nation! Electrofying Obama Smokes Romney!
I find it hard to believe that Obama is in reality the babbling idiot he appeared in this first debate. He now has more people "feeling sorry" for him. Perhaps he's switched from playing the "Race Card" to playing the "Sympathy Card".
Let's not forget the old saying of "Misery Loves Company", and there are a lot of people who are basically just "unhappy" no matter who's the President, no matter what. This could be Obama's play on emotions to garner votes, after all, and coupled with a resurgence of Obama's charisma in the 2nd debate . . . . . . many people vote totally on "likeability" and their emotions towards the candidate (no matter what the facts, without farther thought or logical).
On the other hand, many undecideds who watched this debate have now decided they "like" Mitt Romney, and I continue to believe this trend of Mitt gaining popularity will grow, and Romney will win in a "landslide". Just saying Obama cannot run on his record, therefore, his exceptionally poor performance in the 1st debate may have been a purposeful way of playing the "Sympathy Card".

I watched the debate and was pleased at Romney's answers for the most part. Obama has had his chance over teh last 3 years. The biggest laugh came from when Obama said he gave a tax cut for the middle class of $3600.00 annually so they could buy a new car..please tell me where you can buy a new car for $3600.00. I feel Romney won the debate hands down.

Wes, are you smoking rolled up stock certificates at your office? Just kidding. I'm glad you offered that opinion and it may actually be the best strategy the liberals can come up with. Romney was actually better prepared than anyone expected.
You make a good point about Obama not defending himself and maybe he will make a comeback in the 3rd and final debate. I sure hope that's not the case. Obama can't defend his losing record. The only thing he has worked on and improved in 4 years is his golf score. I think Obama knew he would get blasted and therefore he didn't get serious about preparing.
Last night for 90 minutes Obama had no free passes and no protection from the media. For 90 minutes out of the last four years he was exposed for how incompetent and lazy he really his. He knew that once he got through the 90 minutes he would be back under the protection of the media and he can go back to 30 second sound bites of lies and blame someone else and class warfare. That's all he has.
Obama is a fraud. He knows it. For 90 minutes last night, America knew it...

I will be honest, I only watched about 20 minutes of the debate. Romney was clearly the more informed, better prepared and most convincing of the two. Obama appeared to lose focus on the questions and would stammer and regain his path. I was impressed by Romney's overall "Presidential" presence. He had the Reagan type authority about him. Respectful, mannerly, but not a door mat for the world. He is a leader that others will follow.

Who knew that Clint Eastwood was such a good judge of character? Last night’s bout was billed as Romney’s last chance, and who showed up to the fight? The chair.
What you saw last night was the real Obama. An empty suit. We now know the REAL reason he won’t release his college transcripts – he’s a blithering idiot. No wonder he wouldn’t meet with Netanyahu. Bibbi is the alpha male over Obama. Just like Putin.
The Bolshevik, Libs, etc. make a big deal that "he" got Bin Laden - as if making that decision was in some way heroic. There was no decision to be made. You just do it, and even then he waffled, listening to Valerie Jarret.
The "man" can’t make eye contact, an indication of self doubt. Good Grief!!! It looked like he was actually agreeing with Romney half the time.
As usual, Lib-Dems are blaming everyone other than Obama. They even blame it on Lerher. Maddow actually said it was the format. I thought the format was great. They actually got to argue their points with each other. Obama had no arguments because he has no accomplishments.
Next we’ll hear about the toll campaigning has taken on the president. The dude LOVES that plane.
This is what happens when you let Hollywood and the media hype a candidate. You love his looks – and don’t pay attention to his competence and experience. Hollywood makes caricatures out of actors who are human. Unfortunately, the human can never live up to the caricature.
Obama was billed as a saviour. What you saw last night was the man.
Actually you saw the chair.

The post above sums it up. Obama was completely lost. We had two Ivy league graduates on the stage. Romney was one of the top students who earned his position and excelled in his scholastic, professional, and personal life.
Obama is a product of affirmative action. He was placed and handed every position by liberal enablers over the course of his entire career. He has produced nothing substantive over the course of his entire life. Hopefully, the debate showed everyone how vastly unqualified Obama is.
He takes a teleprompter to elementary schools to talk to the kids. This was no contest.
Romney has stood on stage multiple times with 7-8 other highly intelligent Republicans who were all ganging up on him and he excelled during the primary debates. Imagine for a minute Obama on stage during the Republican debates trying to defend himself from multiple people?

Y'all summed it up prefectly! Glad to see Romney FINALLY found his running shoes & won the race hands down. Surely (tho' they'll mostly place blame elsewhere) the MSM can see the error of their ways by having coddled & protected Obama from the school of hard knocks. Without his ever-present teleprompter, he was lost as Hogan's goat last night because HE HAS NO IDEA OF HOW TO RUN A COUNTRY!

I could happily watch reruns of that over and over. It's about time O was called out. Romney mopped the floor with Obozo.

Let's put on our thinking caps.
COULD Obama really have been THAT bad? Or COULD this be a political strategy of the Obama camp?
Only if Obama is betting that his foreign policy is better than his economic one.
Given the recent events in Lybia, Egypt, F&F etc, I don't think that is a wise strategy.
Obama's economic theory (failed as it is) was his BEST hope and strongest platform.

Make no mistake. Romney won that debate! But, do not think for one second that it is over. The libs will attack him personally and politically. His character will be assassinated, his family will be attacked, His marriage will be assailed and His businesses will be picked apart. Even his personal safety will at risk (Secret Service will need to be on their toes). They will find crap! Not because it is real or actual crap. They will make up and obfuscate until they can convince their base that Romney and/or Ryan are unfit to hold office. The base will then go out and muddy water and cast aspersions and doubt (this is what they did to Sarah Palin). They will make people who are on the fence question everything. After a performance like this one they have no choice. Because, they don't care that Romney is a better choice. They want Obama and Harry Reid to complete the Fundamental transformation of the U.S.A. into a European style Socilalist style of government. They will stop at nothing to acheive that end.

We need a like button for this.

I've been in business long enough to know better but it just hit me this afternoon.
The job Mitt Romney did last night was a "JOB INVIEW". Think about it. Last night he told America that he wants their business. He did a great job of it!!!!

The risk would be to high for such a theory, thats just Obama without his prompter, his protection, his brain. It was who we've know and said he was all along. The come back kid the only hope they have now, but i dout it was ever thier plain. Obama couldnt have held back from replys, its just he had none, he had no defence!

Guys, last night was good but watch out, they will now throw everything they have. Not just Obama and his sporters but the MSM. The MSM WILL attack Romney like they never have attacked anybody before. They WILL dream up all kinds of stuff like nobody would ever think they MSM would do to an American and 99.9% of it all will be a lie.
Watch, they are coming and you will not believe how far they will go.

Just saying Obama cannot run on his record, therefore, his exceptionally poor performance in the 1st debate may have been a purposeful way of playing the "Sympathy Card". The risk would be to high for such a theory, thats just Obama without his prompter, his protection, his brain. It was who we've know and said he was all along. The come back kid the only hope they have now, but i dout it was ever thier plain. Obama couldnt have held back from replys, its just he had none, he had no defence! Did you notice how bold O was a day after the debate with all his comebacks and speeches? Makes a difference when you have someone else telling you want to say ahead of time instead of having to rely on your own knowledge of a subject.

Rebel Pundit caught up with supporters of the President at an Obama for America rally in Madison, WI on Thursday. When asked if it was "fair" that the President was unable to use a teleprompter during the debates, overwhelmingly the supporters said "no".
"How is he suppose to memorize an hour and a half debate?"

"How is he suppose to memorize an hour and a half debate?" That single sentence says much of what's gone wrong in America over the past two or three generations, and it began in our public school systems with "standardized" testing where "memorizing" items and groupings became more important than critical "thinking" skills and actual "learning" of subject matter.
Too many people are unable to "think", but are pretty good at rote "memorization". Learn to memorize a bunch of meaningless subject matter and you'll be labeled an "intellectual". Otherwise, just get good at reading and speaking out loud what you read on a teleprompter and the intellectuals will label you "brilliant".

That pretty much sums it up.

I'm surprised he doesn't try to sneak an earbud in so he can have someone tell him what to say

You guys remember the Dim-Libs going nuts saying that BOOOOSH had the covert microphone helping him debate Kerry? Called him the 'Milli Vanilli President' because he was too dumb.
Here, before our eyes, is an idiot - and not only do his supporters want him to have a teleprompter...he NEEDS one!

Well I see they are claiming Romney's handkerchief was a cheat sheet. There has to be a reason Romney looked so good and their guy looked so bad.
He is supposed to be the smartest president ever. He is above the office.
