Hey guys, I'm new to this predator hunting and have decided after dealing with multiple yotes everytime I've been in the woods this year to try to reduce the population by a few. I don't have any calls and was wondering if there are certain calls that should be used at a particular time of year. Also, what calls do you suggest that I buy to start this adventure. Thanks for any reply's and God Bless, Steve

I have had better luck with hand calls than e calls. Basically any of the rabbit/rodent distress calls will work any time of the year. The Primos Lil Dog has been a good otc call for me. I have some custom made hand calls and they work also and are prettier. After coyote whelping in April or May I use more pup distress calls. And during fawning time I use more fawn bawls/distress calls. I am not an expert by any means but have called and killed some and missed some too!! It seems to me that if they are going to respond most any distress call will work. The setup- watching wind, noise control, and field of vision is more important than calling ability or type of call imo. And I have killed a good many from ambush watching known travel ways and frequented areas. And you need a rim fire or shotgun to kill them legally until deer rifle season opens. I am carrying a .22 magnum now. Good luck. PH
