Hey All,
I am new to hunting (just started this year) and am trying my best to learn everything I can.. but one piece that keeps confusing me is the regulations regarding hunting on WMAs.
Do any WMA's in Middle TN (Near Nashville) offer non-quota hunts for Turkey and Deer? I was told Yanahli was a good place that was open to everyone, but I just wanted to confirm that it is ok to hunt there without a quota tag so I don't get a ticket out of ignorance.
Any other recommendations for WMA's I should look into would also be greatly appreciated!
Hunting is not an easy thing to break into when you don't grow up with it, so thank you all so much for helping me try!

Grab a Hunting Guide or go online for that version of the HG. Starting on page 36 you will find all of the info you need to get into the WMA hunting. The WMAs are listed by region, and there is a regional map with the approximate location of the WMA. Most of the WMAs in middle TN are non-quota.

If the WMA is open to "statewide" seasons that pretty much means it's wide open and follows the seasons set for that county. Yanahli is open to statewide seasons so you can kill the limits of deer and turkey for Maury county (which equates to a whole bunch).

Awesome - Thank you both so much! The open to statewide seasons terminology is what threw me off a bit, so I really appreciate the explanation!
