I'm not sure if that is Region II or III (think III), but contact the appropriate regional office and check with them.

Here's what the Guide says...

Defeated Creek Unit

Area that extends from the main river channel to the corps of Engineers boundary along Defeated Creek. Same as statewide seasons except archery equipment only for deer hunting. Shotguns only for small game hunting.

I have read the guide. This is the first time defeated has been in the guide. I know exactly what land this is. talked to a gw before said the corp don't know what they are doing most the time. Had just got out of truck when ranger pulled up. I hunt legally all the time if i did do something wrong it wouldnt be on purpose. guy acted like i was a poacher or something. Told me to leave and that i was wrong. I believe he is misinformed. He tried his best to get me to say i had already been hunting. Guess that's what our taxes pay for.

It sounds like your question needs to be directed towards the Corp office.

That is why I carry a guide in my vehicle. Had an issue years ago over at the Percy Priest Unit while dove hunting.

If they tell you something that conflicts with the Guide, call Kirk Miles (R3 Wildlife Manager) in the Region 3 office so he can check to see what is going on.

The unit is open minus the safety zone that encompasses the campground, beach area, bike and hiking trail. Which happens to be 100% of the Weatern portion of the Defeated Creek area.

What remains is a 20-40 yrds stretch of woods between Lakeside drive and the water.

The Campground and trails are a youth only draw hunt.
