random question
If I am not mistaken, the seed pods usually stay on the tree till they ripen and split open.... but if they fall to the ground, will deer eat them?

I can't remember ever seeing the seeds in a deer's stomach. Now deer love the long twisting seed pods of some locust varieties, especially the honey locust.

I didn't think they ate it, but was wondering. Good to know about the honey locust. They are easy to pick out by the thorns and seed pods and I will remember to look for fresh deer sign next time I come across one. Thanks BSK
