Does anyone have any experience altering a camera so that it could run off a solar panel rechargeable? Does it have to be a 6v camera to do this? Or can a standard camera that runs off, say C batteries be converted?

don't know, but I'm about to invest in a solar panel for my camera that uses 6 volt recharges.

I asked the same thing of outdoorbob . I have a solar trickle charger I bought a while back.
He said I could use it but would need a resistor. I don't know what kind or where you would get one. I think thats all you need.

Yeah, you have to be careful not to "overcharge" your battery as this can permanently damage your battery and camera.
Also the 2007 Moultries cannot have a solar charger used on them although they have a hookup. There is a warning about this sent out by Moultrie. They are supposed to have something available later in the fall. You can use them on the 2006 and earlier models.

so, say for instance, I placed rechargeable C batteries in a Wildview camera, with a trickle solar charge going to them, It would charge the batteries? Where could I get such resistor?

Exactly. Just gotta make sure if you've got 6 volts of batteries that your using a 6 volt charger etc. Like my cams run on 3 volts so you can't use a charger with them. Where do you get something like that, I'm not sure. I asked the same question when I first started out. Surely there is an electronics guy on here that can tell you what resistor or diode you need. Moultrie might even carry something like this since they sell the solar chargers.
