The UN hasn't really gotten a lot of stuff accomplished since its inception. While the article seems interesting, I feel a global tax is highly unlikely.

I don't understand why we are in the U.N. What benefit do we get out of it? Why would we ever subjugate ourselves to another nation or a group of nations?
