I'm drawing up some plans to plant a winter plot of various clovers & oats. Never mixed these before. It's my understanding that the oats' planting depth is 1-2 inches, while the clovers' planting depth are 1/2 inches.
Do I sew the oats first, cover, and then sew the clovers?

Yes. After you culitpack the oats then broadcast the clover over that surface and then cultipack again. Then all you need is rain.

1/4 inch is better for the clover. You for sure don't want to go to deep. Your better off top sowing before a good rain than putting them to deep.

I usually just use a roller on the clover and after working the ground up, and sowing the seed, I pull the roller behind the 4-wheeler. I have about 5 different clover plots a the various different properties that I hunt and it never fails. A rain soon after planting never hurts either.
