President's Island For Sale????

I heard on the news this morning that a company from Arkansas has made an offer to purchase over 5,000 acres of President's Island for farming and hunting operations. Any truth to that?? I'd like to hear TWRA's response.

They are saying the 2,000 industrialized acres are not for sale. But the way I read those articles they have designated a committee to do a feasibility study on selling the remaining 5,000 acres.

Who could we contact to see what would be required to get a grassroots effort going. I have grown weary of seeing our hunting lands disappear.

Who could we contact to see what would be required to get a grassroots effort going. I have grown weary of seeing our hunting lands disappear.
Since it is in Region I, I would suggest getting in touch with Alan Peterson to see what direction he thinks this might go.
