I used it last year just to try in a small area. Totally unimpressed.

It will come up quickly and make a good green carpet because of the annual ryegrass. Main component is annual ryegrass with some brassicas and I think a annual clover added in. You are alot better off just buying the seed seperate at the co-op or whereever and making your own mix alot cheaper. Alot of people dont like using the annual ryegrass for a variety of reasons but I am one of the few it seems that get good deer usage out of it so I use it.

Does it live up to its name or do you have to do more work than just throwing it on the ground?

I do alot with just spraying and throwing down the seed. Annual ryegrass, winter wheat, rye grain, etc, and all of your small seeded stuff like brassica and clover will come up with very litte ground prep. I like to spray into fairly vegetation and use that dead vegetation as a thatch or mulch that falls over on top of the seeds and retains moisture. If you have moisture, you will have green.

Cool but the small seeded stuff you listed grows without any ground prep besides raking?

I dont even rake.Just spray and throw before a rain. I have done this successfully for several years now, I have some really nice radish, ryegrass, wheat, crimson clover plots that were done that way right now. The key is timing before a rain and not having severely compacted soil. Also herbaceous vegetation instead of all woody that your spraying.
